This method of treatment a drainage installer generally uses two processes, depending upon whether evaporation conditions are good or not. These are the “land filtration” and the “grass filtration” processes.
Land filtration: this is a process which uses carefully prepared pastures which are divided into smaller sections by low check banks. ask your plumber after being graded they are sown with grass, then filled with sewage effluent to a depth of about 100mm every 189 to 20 days. Evaporation takes place but a portion of the liquid is purified through the soil and is then carried away by underground drains to rivers or creeks. Some form of rotational grazing by cattle or sheep is necessary to keep these pastures in a suitable condition for waste water purification. More on this in my next article.
